Tree Adoption Foundation and Dovizia Partner to Inspire Environmental Stewardship
Tree Adoption Foundation (TAF) continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental restoration by partnering with organizations that share a common vision of creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future. In one such milestone initiative, TAF joined hands with Dovizia, an innovative company championing sustainable bamboo-based products, to conduct a tree planting exercise at Machakos Teachers Training College, one of Kenya's leading value-based teacher training institutions.
The partnership reflects Tree Adoption Foundation's belief that meaningful environmental change is best achieved through collaboration.
” By bringing together institutions, private organizations, and communities, we are creating lasting environmental impact while nurturing a culture of sustainability among future generations.” Said Charles Ouma, Strategy Manager at Tree Adoption Foundation
Sustainability Beyond Tree Planting
Dovizia's commitment to environmental conservation extends beyond this tree planting initiative. Through the production of bamboo kitchen towels, bamboo tissue papers, and bamboo facial tissues, the company has embraced bamboo—a fast-growing, renewable grass—as an alternative raw material to conventional wood-based products.
This innovative approach significantly reduces pressure on forests, helping conserve trees that are essential for biodiversity, climate regulation, water catchment protection, and carbon sequestration. It is this shared commitment to protecting natural ecosystems that made Dovizia a natural partner for Tree Adoption Foundation.
Environmental Conservation Must Leave No One Behind
One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was the active participation of every student, regardless of ability.
Machakos Teachers Training College is recognized for its inclusive learning environment, bringing together students of different abilities, including those with visual impairments, hearing impairments, and physical disabilities.
Environmental conservation should be a shared responsibility for everyone, and the tree planting exercise beautifully demonstrated this principle.
“A particularly moving moment was witnessing visually impaired students being guided by their fellow students as they planted trees together. Their teamwork served as a powerful reminder that environmental conservation thrives where inclusion, compassion, and unity exist.” Said Justus Ooro, Founder Dovizia.
The event reinforced that every individual has a role to play in restoring our environment, and that collective action transcends physical limitations.
