Dr. Joseph Romanus Mukabana

Dr. Joseph Romanus Mukabana is a distinguished meteorologist and climate expert with a wealth of experience in international weather and climate policy, research, and capacity development.
Previously, he served as the Director of the Africa Office and Least Developed Countries (AFLDC) at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he also led the African Ministerial Conference on Meteorology (AMCOMET) and held the role of Senior Scientific Officer (SSO) for Research and Capacity Development.

Prior to his tenure at WMO, Dr. Mukabana was the Director of the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) and the Permanent Representative (PR) of Kenya to the WMO. His career also includes serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Meteorology at the University of Nairobi, where he contributed to academia and research.

With a strong foundation in both theoretical and operational meteorology, Dr. Mukabana brings extensive expertise in climate science, policy, and sustainable development to Tree Adoption Foundation. His leadership and deep knowledge align with our mission to advance environmental conservation and sustainable practices, driving impactful initiatives for a greener future.
