Trees To Be Planted In Kenya

Welcome to Tree Adoption Foundation, where our commitment to a greener Kenya, and the world takes root! We are a non profit organization duly registered under section 10 of the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination act.

Operations

We have a team of competent staff that is able to identify different kinds of trees for each particular soil, plant the trees, water them and provide them with manure, and maintain them. We will partner with other environmental conservation agencies and government departments to ensure that the planted trees are protected from any form of destruction such as illegal logging

We need your support

Who We Are

Our Story
As a dynamic group of young, environmentally-conscious Kenyans, we are dedicated to combating climate change through the power of trees. Our mission is ambitious yet simple: To plant over 470 million trees across Kenya, starting with over 23,500,000 trees annually across all 47 counties of Kenya.
Our Philosophy
We believe in the power of collective action. By working hand-in-hand with stakeholders at every level, we ensure that each tree we plant thrives and contributes to a brighter, better, greener future. Join us in our journey to make Kenya a lush, vibrant landscape that is able to support the diverse ecosystem once again. Together, we can plant the seeds for a sustainable tomorrow for generations to come.
Projects
Tree Adoption Foundation is seeking to introduce trees to areas without trees. This is the process of creating new forests by planting trees in areas without previous tree cover or forest ecosystems.

What we will do

We will plant drought resistant trees in parks, hills, water catchment areas and maintain them for a period of 5 months while watering them and adding manure until the trees are able to survive independently.

Partnership

The Kenyan Government, through the Presidential directive under the JazaMiti initiative, aims to plant 15 billion trees in partnership with Safaricom, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Forest, and ICT. To support this goal, the Ministry has developed a mobile application that provides comprehensive information on all aspects of tree planting and management.

In alignment with this national initiative, the Tree Adoption Foundation (TAF) has integrated the app into its daily operations. This partnership has enabled TAF to make significant progress, including selecting appropriate tree species for different environments, as well as documenting, tracking, and monitoring tree growth.

By aligning its objectives with those of the government, TAF leverages both informational and logistical support to enhance its impact—demonstrating the power of coordinated efforts in addressing climate and environmental challenges.
